Last week Justin and Matt were invited to talk about Airborne on the BroShow by Paul ‘@snoddie’ Snodgrass.
It was a good show and the Airborne crew had a great time in studio. Taxi Violence stopped by to explain why they decided to use Airborne to connect with their fans and find out ‘who’ and ‘where’ they really are. They are busy writing more content for their fans as well as getting their live recordings together for release through the channel.
Paul, Matt and Justin touched on some finer points of how the Airborne ecosystem works, how files are delivered right to you as they are released, how Artists can ‘see’ who their top Carriers are and mentioning the fact that most people spend more money on paying car guards outside of a live venue than on the actual artists they went there to see.

Fine tuning your notification settings.
After listening to user feedback on our notification settings, we have rework this area to make it easier to understand and easier for you to control the type AND frequency of the communications you receive from Airborne.
This section has been distilled from the original 5 options down to these 3 easy to digest options:
- Airborne Alerts - These are alerts that Airborne sends out to let their userbase know about new features (like this email) as well as Artist announcements and other ‘special news’ We hate spam and we will endevour to not spam you here. But staying up to date with what Airborne is doing is done via this channel and we recommend that you keep this checked.
- Instant Notifications - These are email notices that Airborne sends to our users to let them know when Artsits that they Carry release notifications. If you disable this option we will not send you these mails and you will have to find out about new releases from your Radar Feed.
- Strain Of The Day - Every day we highlight a Strain from our Library to the userbase. If you prefer you can check out our Facebook page instead. We also tweet out every new Strain release from our @strainfm twitter account.
We believe that giving you the control over how Airborne communicates with you is of utmost importance. Please take the time to login to you account and update your profile to the correct level of contact you wish to receive from Airborne.

Crew Picks Vol 6
Being a short week here in South Africa (Yesterday was Human Rights Day) we thought we would bring you some crew picks, more office photos (we work through most public holidays) and some cool tips on getting the most out of your Airborne experience!

Yesterday we had some high level brainstorming on some new features that we want to bring to Airborne in the future. There are some very exciting developments going forward :)
Strain Artwork & Information
Downloading Strains from your favorite Airborne Artists has some added bonuses that you might not be aware of. The awesome artwork and information that the Artist has uploaded for each Strain item is embedded into the ID3 for each Strain that you download. This means that when you play the music on your smartphone or on your computer you won’t see ‘untitled track 1 by unknown artist’ but rather the information as provided by the Artist. Within the description text for each Strain we include the strain.fm link, so anyone you share the file with in the ‘real world’ will have the information needed to connect to that Artist on Airborne.
